Tagged!

I have been tagged by Lone of ddd-favoritter – I have to write 5 things about myself and then go on to tag 5 more bloggers.
Here is my list:

  1. As I child I hated baby dolls and refused to play with them.
  2. When my grandmother gave me a sewing caddy that she hand-painted herself for my 13th birthday, I was horrified. It wasn’t a toy! I use it every day now, as well as her sewing machine – I think that she knew something that I didn’t.
  3. My Mom and I always compete for the same items at antique stores.
  4. I am trying to teach myself to speak Polish – it’s slow going, but I am determined.
  5. The head of my household is a small orange female cat named Slayer whose authority none of us dare to challenge (unless we feel like taking a sound beating).

Now I am tagging the following people…

  1. Tonya of Olde Country Creations
  2. Debra of Pilgrims and Pioneers
  3. Lana of Honeysuckle Lane
  4. Doreen of Vermont Harvest Primitives
  5. ? If you are reading, feel free to fill yourself in here!

  1. Hi stephanie..thanks for visiting my blog and for the tag. I loved #2 regarding your Grandmother…isn’t it funny how we change our feelings about things over time.

    Blessings,
    Doreen

  2. You’re welcome, and thanks for stopping by here also! 🙂 And it is funny how our feelings about things can change – I hope that my grandmother (who was a seamstress, quiller, and toll painter) sees me now. I’m sure that she does.

  3. Hiya Stephanie-
Thanks for the nice comment on my blog.
What a treasure your grandma’s sewing caddy must be to you now!
I didn’t like baby dolls as a kid either, but I made paper dolls, and I had an Obi Wan Knobi action figure (does that count?) 🙂

    Hugs- Jo

  4. Jo – You’re welcome! Your dolls are among the most treasured in my collection. I just love them all.
And yes, the sewing caddy is a treasure to me now. 🙂 I will post pictures of it at some point, it is very pretty.
Obi Wan definitely counts! My favorite dolls were The Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman. I used to sleep with my Bionic Woman doll in my bed at night, and her right foot kept coming off. I think my Mom wound up getting me 3 new ones. 😛
