New Extreme Primitive Folk Art Doll
Mrs. Baker is an extreme primitive folk art doll made of muslin stuffed with sawdust. She wears a tea-stained muslin skirt with an adjustable drawstring and a very prim carrot. She has bits of coffee-stained string for hair and vintage buttons for eyes. I made her using a Netty LaCroix design. This is a really great doll and I love her carrot accessory. What is the difference between primitive and extreme primitive btw?

Cathy - Thanks! Extreme primitive is more simplistic, grungy, and/or unsophisticated looking than primitive.
Doreen - Thank you! Sometimes it seems like the more I struggle with an element (like the amount of greens atop the carrot) the more appropriate-looking it turns out in the end.

Don’t you just hate it when something hassles you like that..I just finished a doll and I swear she was so ornery!!!! She wouldn’t agree on anything….she’s finally finished and I LOVE her…lol.

I think these extreme primitive art doll looks fantastic!!
I just read your post about coffee and tea staining….I never thought to use a sponge, I use a paint brush and since its winter here I hang my dolls to dry above the wood fire…a little dagerouse I know!
Really like the halloween decorations too I’m just about to make a couple of halloween dolls, I drew up a few designs between computer crashes at work yesterday!!!

Hi Grace - Thank you for the kind words. Where are you located? It is over 90 degrees and terribly humid here!
