Christmas Home Tour – Primitive and Victorian Decor

One of my favorite parts of the Christmas season is getting to see how beautiful my parents’ house looks all decorated for Christmas. My Mom spends 5 days putting all of her decorations out, plus a 6th day for decorating the tree. This year when I was at their house helping decorate the tree, I took a bunch of photos of their primitive and Victorian Christmas decor to share here. One day, I hope that my home will also look this nice.

Their Christmas tree is filled with so many wonderful antique and vintage ornaments. I have been adding more decorations to my primitive twig tree at my home too – I will have to post some updated pictures soon. It also now has 5 strands of antique glass bead garlands on it that my Mom pulled out of a box of antique Christmas decorations from my grandparents.

  1. What a gorgeous home they have Stephanie and so beautifully decorated with all sorts of lovely things. My favourite is that lovely white coloured santa with the nice texture, and that amazing Christmas tree. I am very impressed that everything has been decorated already. We haven’t even got our tree down from the loft yet..lol. Thanks for sharing these lovely photos.

  2. Thank you for the kind words Cathy – I will pass them on to my Mom! I love the white Santa too, he is one of Johanna Parker’s designs. My Mom and I have lots of her reproduction collectibles (still hoping to get my hands on an original one day!). I put my tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving – I like to stretch the season out as long as possible. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Ahhh, looks so warm and inviting…… Thanks for sharing your lovely pics! And I noticed a familiar face in the mix… My vanilla belsnickel looks right at home on that primitive bench…. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s so fun to see my designs enjoying themselves in beautiful homes at holiday time!

    Merry Christmas!

  5. Stephanie,

Thank you so much for sharing pictures of your mom’s home at Christmastime, 2008. I especially liked picture #1 with that gold toned cabinet and all her decorations on top of it. Also, those wooden ceiling beams are to die for.

Your mother really has a gift for decorating and therefore, you probably have the same gift, too.

    Please keep sharing with us.
