Mrs. Primitive Snowman Doll

I listed this new primitive snowman doll – or should I say, snowgal! – in my Etsy shop today. She is the Mrs. to the last snowman doll that I made. Perhaps that toothy grin is because she carries a snowball in her bag that is ready to throw?

I had a lot of fun taking pictures of her too. I love to get to play around with my collection of antiques and primitives and do a bit of redecorating around each new doll. It is almost time to finally tuck away the Halloween decorations that I still have filling my house (I love them so… I seem to stretch their stay a bit longer each year) and start bringing out the Christmas goodies. I bought a new primitive twig tree in Lancaster, PA last month that I can’t wait to set up and decorate for the first time. Soon I will have to find some time to make some extra sets of my candy cane and Santa ornaments for myself. Thank you to all of the wonderful customers who have been keeping me so busy making them!

Christmas Ornament Contest on Etsy

One of the lovely ladies from the OFG Team on Etsy just pointed out to me that my set of 6 vintage style chenille Santa ornaments – which are also my WSOAPP Door Prize this month – have been included in an Etsy Holiday Ornament contest! The Storque article about the contest says, “You have until noon on Friday, November 21st, 2008 to cast your vote. You must be logged into Etsy to be able to vote. Your vote remains anonymous. 60 items were chosen by admin for your consideration.” My Santa ornaments that are featured in the contest are pictured below, if you would like to go take a peek and vote for me. 🙂

I would like to stay a visit a bit longer, but the holiday rush of orders and the sewing machine are calling me. I will have another new doll to share very soon. I am also delighted to have been accepted as a vendor on a new juried handmade marketplace site called 1000 Markets. My shop is here: Old World Primitives. And now I am off to get back to work on creating more goodies to fill it with!

Primitive Snowman Doll

I am back with another new doll to share! Cold and flu season visited my home early and with a vengeance this year but I am finally back in the swing of things again this week. This primitive snowman will be my offering tomorrow for the WSOAPP Holiday Open House launch. He will be available in the Old World Primitives WSOAPP Shoppe along with a holiday themed prize I will be offering to those who stop by and sign up.

WSOAPP Holiday Open House

WSOAPP will be hosting a Holiday Open House from November 7th – December 10th. Be sure to stop by and enter our giveaway for a $50 gift certificate that will be redeemable in any WSOAPP Market Street Shoppe!

As you click through individual shops in the marketplace during that time, you will also be able to sign up for chances to win additional prizes. This should be a fun way to begin getting into the holiday gift giving spirit!

Primitive Santa Doll + Halloween Fun

Santa Claus is comin’ to town! I just added this new primitive doll to the Old World Primitives Etsy shop – a robed Santa carrying a Christmas stocking. The sweet annie in Santa’s stocking came from Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm in Pennsylvania (I never miss their delightful Harvest Festival).

Although I have started making Christmas items already, I am still having fun getting into the Halloween spirit and enjoying the season. Last night I went to the Great Jack-O’-Lantern Blaze in Hudson Valley, NY. It featured over 4,000 individually hand-carved, illuminated pumpkins on display in the form of dinosaurs, pirates, snakes, spiders, mummies, an undersea aquarium, grave angels (my favorite part!) and more. Below are some of the photos that I took at the event that came out well enough to be recognizable (it was dark and spooky! which meant that sadly many of my favorite parts of the display didn’t photograph well).

Primitive Folk Art Sheep

SOLD, thank you!

Today is the 7th of the month, which means that the WSOAPP Market Street Shoppes have all been updated with new goodies. The primitive sheep pictured above is available in my Old World Primitives WSOAPP shoppe now. In celebration of WSOAPP’s first anniversary on October 2nd, many Market Street Shoppe listings this month will include something made of paper. My sheep wears a stained, cinnamon-dusted paper label.

Primitive Folk Art Witch Doll With Cat

Happy Fall! I just finished a primitive folk art Halloween doll set – a witch with a pointy hat and a pointy nose holding her cat. The pair are available now on Old World Primitives and in the Old World Primitives Etsy shop.

WSOAPP Grand Opening!

wsoapp grand openingNow that I am back from climbing mountains, I would like to announce that the WSOAPP Market Street Shoppes are now officially open for business! You can either click on each member’s avatar or click on our business name links in the right hand sidebar to visit our shoppes. My new witch make-do is now available for sale in my Old World Primitives WSOAPP shoppe.

WSOAPP also has our first advertisement on page 89 of the Early American Life Christmas issue, which just hit newsstands and subscriber mailboxes this week. Early American Life has been one of my very favorite magazines for awhile now, so I am so excited to have our group’s ad featured on one of its pages.
