Time to fit in one last blog post before 2010 is gone. This year seemed to pass by in a whirlwind – why is it that time seems to keep speeding up more and more with each passing year?

There were so many things that I wanted to post about during the 2010 holiday season, but I just couldn’t seem to find the time. I definitely have some new year’s resolutions in mind regarding advance planning, time management, organization, and simplifying for 2011.

I have so many new ideas for dolls and ornaments to make that I have been itching to get back to creating again. Most of the 2010 Christmas season was spent filling orders for existing designs, so I am getting started on new creations for each holiday much earlier in 2011! I am also going to be releasing dolls and ornaments in new techniques and styles – paper dolls and needle felted ornaments. The first of my new creations for 2011 are pictured below – many more to come soon!

I am also pleased to share that my spun cotton snowgirl ornament was featured on page 21 of the Winter 2010 issue of Celebrate365 magazine. Pictured below are both the cover of the Winter 2010 issue and the page including my feature (which you can click to enlarge).

Wishing you and yours a happy and safe holiday season! I am excited that we should have a white Christmas this year – the foot of snow that fell here last weekend hasn’t done too much melting yet.

On to my exciting news that I have to share – I am honored to have one of my chenille angel ornaments featured on the cover of the Winter 2009 issue of Celebrate 365 magazine. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my copy of the magazine to get a peek at what is inside as well. A picture of the cover is below.

December is such a fun and festive month here… I love decorating my primitive twig tree, each year with a few more new ornaments than the last. I always keep some pine scented candles burning throughout the month to make it smell like we have a real tree. As I unwrap my winter folk art decorations and place them about the house, each one brings smiles and gets me in the Christmas spirit. Below are a few peeks at my primitive Christmas decor this year.

I have also been working on some new ornament designs for next year, beginning with Valentine’s Day. I added a new set of vintage style chenille cupid ornaments to my Old World Primitives Etsy shop today. They are ready for the season of love with their Valentine hearts and arrows.

Happy New Year to all! My New Year’s Resolution for 2009 is to manage my time better and be more productive… so far, so good. Have you made any resolutions for this year?

I just finished filling the Old World Primitives WSOAPP Shoppe with some new goodies for our January 7th update. The first item that I added is a primitive heart make-do. It is wrapped with painted and stained cheesecloth that I have filled with stained vintage and Valentine images plus a sprig of sweet annie. A stained white dove also flies over the heart. The cheesecloth is secured by a rusty safety pin and some stained vintage lace ric-rac tied in a bow.

SOLD, thank you!

My second new item is a primitive doll called Sweet Annie Love Letters. She and the heart make-do were both created using Veena’s Mercantile patterns. Sweet Annie will fit in nicely with either Valentine’s Day or everyday decor. For more information about Sweet Annie Love Letters and the heart make-do above, pay them a visit in the Old World Primitives WSOAPP Shoppe.

I am also delighted and honored to be the first WSOAPP Featured Artist this month!
