Today marks the WSOAPP April 7th update! I just added the new extreme primitive angel doll (pattern by Netty LaCroix) pictured below to my Old World Primitives WSOAPP Shoppe.

April will be my final month on WSOAPP, and starting May 1st you may find me on Early Work Mercantile (in addition to my Old World Primitives Etsy Shop). I will be closing down my retail store over at oldworldprimitives.com in approximately 2 months and transitioning that page over to a homepage for my handmade wares soon after.

Also, today marks the start of my retail blowout sale on OldWorldPrimitives.com! I am now down to my final days of selling retail, and have placed EVERY item on OldWorldPrimitives.com on Final Sale. Take a peek for some really deep discounts! I have only 1 left of many of the items that remain in stock, so if you see something you want, please grab it. Items will not be restocked as they sell out – I am closing out of my imported retail inventory so that I may turn my full focus to my handmade dolls.

Primitive Folk Art Cloth and Clay Doll

My Old World Primitives WSOAPP Shoppe has been updated for our February 7th update with the primitive doll pictured below.

SOLD

I recently took part in the Cloth and Clay Doll workshop offered by Gritty Arts Studio, and created this doll during the workshop. I have discovered that I absolutely love working with Paperclay on top of a cloth doll body, and definitely plan to make more dolls with sculpted faces in the future! The primitive doll pictured above is also hand painted and antiqued. You can read more about her over on WSOAPP. I also have some more goodies in the works that will be added to the Old World Primitives Etsy shop soon too.

WSOAPP Shoppe January Update

Happy New Year to all! My New Year’s Resolution for 2009 is to manage my time better and be more productive… so far, so good. Have you made any resolutions for this year?

I just finished filling the Old World Primitives WSOAPP Shoppe with some new goodies for our January 7th update. The first item that I added is a primitive heart make-do. It is wrapped with painted and stained cheesecloth that I have filled with stained vintage and Valentine images plus a sprig of sweet annie. A stained white dove also flies over the heart. The cheesecloth is secured by a rusty safety pin and some stained vintage lace ric-rac tied in a bow.

SOLD, thank you!

My second new item is a primitive doll called Sweet Annie Love Letters. She and the heart make-do were both created using Veena’s Mercantile patterns. Sweet Annie will fit in nicely with either Valentine’s Day or everyday decor. For more information about Sweet Annie Love Letters and the heart make-do above, pay them a visit in the Old World Primitives WSOAPP Shoppe.

Mrs. Primitive Snowman Doll

I listed this new primitive snowman doll – or should I say, snowgal! – in my Etsy shop today. She is the Mrs. to the last snowman doll that I made. Perhaps that toothy grin is because she carries a snowball in her bag that is ready to throw?

I had a lot of fun taking pictures of her too. I love to get to play around with my collection of antiques and primitives and do a bit of redecorating around each new doll. It is almost time to finally tuck away the Halloween decorations that I still have filling my house (I love them so… I seem to stretch their stay a bit longer each year) and start bringing out the Christmas goodies. I bought a new primitive twig tree in Lancaster, PA last month that I can’t wait to set up and decorate for the first time. Soon I will have to find some time to make some extra sets of my candy cane and Santa ornaments for myself. Thank you to all of the wonderful customers who have been keeping me so busy making them!

Christmas Ornament Contest on Etsy

One of the lovely ladies from the OFG Team on Etsy just pointed out to me that my set of 6 vintage style chenille Santa ornaments – which are also my WSOAPP Door Prize this month – have been included in an Etsy Holiday Ornament contest! The Storque article about the contest says, “You have until noon on Friday, November 21st, 2008 to cast your vote. You must be logged into Etsy to be able to vote. Your vote remains anonymous. 60 items were chosen by admin for your consideration.” My Santa ornaments that are featured in the contest are pictured below, if you would like to go take a peek and vote for me. :)

I would like to stay a visit a bit longer, but the holiday rush of orders and the sewing machine are calling me. I will have another new doll to share very soon. I am also delighted to have been accepted as a vendor on a new juried handmade marketplace site called 1000 Markets. My shop is here: Old World Primitives. And now I am off to get back to work on creating more goodies to fill it with!

Primitive Snowman Doll

I am back with another new doll to share! Cold and flu season visited my home early and with a vengeance this year but I am finally back in the swing of things again this week. This primitive snowman will be my offering tomorrow for the WSOAPP Holiday Open House launch. He will be available in the Old World Primitives WSOAPP Shoppe along with a holiday themed prize I will be offering to those who stop by and sign up.
