It’s Not Easy Being Green

The canning continues in my backyard garden center… and despite the copious amounts of pickles that my cucumber plants have been producing, my husband has decided that he hath not enough cucumbers for his brine. He has therefore been attending our local farmer’s market each weekend to buy up all of the small cucumbers for sale there so that we can pickle them, too.

Behold the gallon jar.

I would also like to introduce my newest primitive folk art creation – a Halloween frog witch doll, created using a fun Soft in the Head “Frogette” design. She is ready to cast spells and enchant hearts. Available in the Old World Primitives Etsy Shop now.

  1. The witchy frog is great Stephanie. You get so many good ideas for your prims. Those pickled cucumbers are amazing. What a huge amount. I don’t think I have ever eaten a pickled cucumber although I do like cucumbers. Very refreshing.

  2. Here I come a visiting and to comment and you’re off on vacation… again! Next time you go to FL, swing by TN and take me too, lol!

The pickles look delicious Steph! Our vines died out and I didn’t get another picking to make dill pickles, just the first couple of batches of bread and butter pickles.

The frog is awesome! Pam has great designs, doesn’t she?

Hope you have a onderful vacation… wherever you are….

  3. I love your frog. Your pickles look great. It’s so wonderful, after all the work gardening, to make something, then later, sit back and savor the results.

  4. Loved the pickle story and how hubby needs to go to the markets and get more. LOL They look awesome! Love pickles.

That froggy is so adorable. I am sure she sold right away. I hope you had a wonderful vacation….I think I need one.

    Have a great week.
